The Department of Obstetrics Gynaecology is one of the busiest department in ESICMC&H, Bihta, Patna, providing comprehensive medical care for safe motherhood, population stabilization and protection of women’s health in all stages of their life. The department provides tertiary care services to all attending ESI beneficiaries & Non IPs and also to all referred    patients from other ESI hospitals of Bihar. 
Department has strength of 60 beds. 
Services Provided -

•    Complete antenatal, intranatal normal and operative deliveries and post natal services.
•    High-Risk Obstetrics.
•    Gynecology outpatient and inpatient care
•    Obstetrics Gynecologic Surgery including cancer surgery.
•    24 hour Obstetrics Gynaecology emergency services.
•    Family Planning and Contraception all options - family planning clinic daily.
•    Medical termination of pregnancy-by medicines and by surgical method.

      Depending on duration of pregnancy
•    Diagnosis and treatment of infertility including ovulation induction.

•    Gynae-cancer screening including Pap smear, VIA and colposcopy, & endometrial biopsy and treatment- cancer  clinic Once a week special clinic
•    Ultrasonography.
•    Department also provided JSSY Services with DBT Scheme.

 FACILITIES / OPERATIONS PERFORMS IN THE DEPARTMENT

  1. 24*7 Normal deliveries and emergency caesarean section.
  2. Emergency Laparotomy.
  3. Gynecological Surgeries. i.e, Laparotomy, Abdominal Hysterectomies, Vaginal Hysterectomies, Cystectomies, Mini Laparotomy, Sterilization operation, D & C, EB, Cervical Biopsy, D & E, Repair of vault prolapsed, Manchester Operation. etc
